ECHOvirus
An acronym for Enteric Cyto-pathogenic Human Orphan, the ECHOvirus is a picornavirus associated with many syndromes but not identified as a cause of any specific disease. There are many ECHOviruses, and more than 30 types have been identified.
ECHOvirus may cause a variety of nonbac-terial MENINGITIS.
